FAQSMaker Sunshine Festival FAQs This festival has always run as a help each other event – We help the Rame ConservationTrust to keep the land each year by organising the festival and we ask all of you to look out for each other during the weekend. We would also appreciate that all of you respect the local residents who let us hold this event annually. Please let security know if you see anything that requires attention as soon as possible and we hope you have a great few days in Cornwalls Forgotten Corner. We want to answer your queries as quickly as we can. This isn't always possible in the busy period before the festival so before you contact us, please browse the FAQs below. TICKETS Where can I buy tickets? You can buy tickets online through this website www.makerfestival.co.uk or by post at Maker Events Ltd, P.O. Box 37 Torpoint Cornwall PL10 1WJ Limited Day Tickets will be available on the Gate each day from 10 a.m. but these will not include camping (Youths under 18 must have full paying adult with them). Please note NO UNDER 18’s admitted without a full paying adult on site. When should I receive my tickets? Tickets bought by internet are sent out in May, June and July. If you pay by cheque please allow 14 days for cheques to clear. My tickets haven't arrived, what should I do? If your tickets don’t arrive contact the Festival Office on makerevents@hotmail.com or 07900 99 42 31 and we'll look into it as a priority.
I can't use the tickets I've bought, can I get a refund? Sorry, we don't refund or resell tickets that can't be used. What if I’ve lost my tickets? Sorry we cannot replace tickets if they are lost so please look after them.
Does my child need a ticket? You’ll need a child’s ticket for those aged 5 and over. Children under 5 don’t need tickets, but you'll be offered a wristband for them on arrival on which you can write your mobile phone number on. OPENING TIMES What are the festival opening times? Thursday 31st July 10.00 a.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 10 am Everyone is asked to be off site by Monday 12.00 mid day ** camping new arrivals wont be admitted after 10.00pm on any night.
What time does the music start? Music begins on Thursday at 6pm, Friday 12.00 , Saturday 12.00 and Sunday 12.00
How can I find out when my favourite band are on? Bands performance times and stages will be listed as soon as possible on this website. You can buy a programme at the festival.
When do the workshops start and do I have to book/pay? The full workshop programme begins on Friday at 10am, most are free but a few charge a minimum amount to cover costs. Workshops are on a first come first served basis Where and when can I get a programme? Programmes will be available to buy on arrrival at the festival Where's the nearest train station? The nearest train station is Plymouth (St. Germans is only 20 mins drive away but there is no reliable public transport) (BR enquiries 08457 484950 or www.nationalrail.co.uk) Buses www.first.com 81B from Plymouth to Cawsand - Disembark at Fourlanesend School for Maker Heights. Please note there is still a 15 min walk uphill to the site from Fourlanesend School. Can I have the postcode for the festival to use Sat Nav? PL10 1LA Maker Heights, Millbrook Ferries – Tamar Cruising www.tamarcruising.com 01752 822105 ferries from Plymouth to Cremyll Torpoint ferry daytime - 01752 812233 Torpoint ferry night - 01752 361577 www.cawsandferry.com ferries from the Barbican Plymouth to Cawsand beach Both the Cremyll ferry and the Cawsand ferry arrive at the bottom of the hill from the festival site! Please note that it is about a half an hour hike up the hill. Taxis available: Cremyll cabs 01752 822196 Where can I park my car? All camping parking is free at the festival and it's not more than a five minute walk to the festival entrance. There are allocated parking areas for those camping - for everyone's safety we do not allow cars to unload or stop in roadways or to be parked next to tents. Why not bring a wheelbarrow if you have a lot to carry? Cars pulling caravans/trailer tents can be parked in the caravan/campervan area.
When can I arrive at the campsite? Arrival is from 10 a.m. Thursday morning. Please don't turn up the night before your ticket is valid - you won't be allowed to camp.
What's the latest time I can arrive at the festival? The Box Office closes at 10.00pm each evening so no new arrivals will be admitted after this time, but once you have a wristband, you can come and go at any time. Camping Is there a special area for caravans and campervans? Yes Do I need to book a place for my caravan/campervan? Space for caravans and camper vans is free at the festival and you don’t need to book a place. Can I camp if I have a day ticket? No only full weekend camping ticket holders will be able to camp overnight What's are the campsites like? The camping is in fields with water points, toilets and compost loos, flushing toilets and free hot showers are in the main arena area. The areas are exposed so please bring plenty of tent pegs. Security of Cars, Tents and Property Our stewarding team and Security will keep a watchful eye on the camping fields 24-hours a day, however we cannot accept responsibility for any losses that may occur. We recommend that you don't bring any valuables with you - if it's absolutely necessary, keep them on you at all times.! Are there any B&Bs or hotels nearby? Early booking is adviseable as local accommodation is limited, the local villages are Millbrook, Cremyll Kingsand and Cawsand.Please check www.crabpot.co.uk for accomodation lists. Welfare What are the facilities like for people with disabilities? Our stewards will do all they can to help you enjoy the festival. Adapted toilets are available in both the festival site and campsite. To let us know about any needs you may have please contact the Festival Office email at makerevents@hotmail.com Welfare There is a Welfare area on site with 24 hour cover, please let security know if you or someone you see needs help.
Can I have a campfire or BBQ? An Open fire is only allowed in an already designated area . You may use gas or charcoal burning BBQs ( up off the ground), but not disposable BBQs - they are an extreme fire risk. Please make sure gas canisters are not changed inside tents or caravans.
Can I bring alcohol? Yes, you can bring alcohol to drink in the campsite, but please no glass this year, please note you won't be able to take alcohol into the festival main arena area. There will be four well-stocked bars within the festival site.
Can I bring my pet? No Pets will be allowed to enter the site. Please don't even consider leaving an animal in your vehicle on the campsite.
Will there be medical support on site for emergencies? Yes, first aiders and St Johns will be on site during the festival, however they do not keep prescription medication so you should bring your supply for the festival and any real medical emergencies should be dealt directly by calling 999.
Where can I smoke at the festival? You won't be able to smoke in any of the buildings and marquees at the festival. We have to enforce this law so please respect the no smoking signs.
Is there a cash machine? No you will have to go to the local villages of Millbrook (outside the co-op) and Kingsand Village stores, only open during shop times for the cash machine Do you recycle any of the rubbish? Yes we do! We have our own Maker Green Team who will supply you with the right bags on arrival please help them by using the right bags and bins on site.
